Joshua hails from California of the United States of America where his love for film and advertising begun. His early years as a film student with The San Jose State University helped to fan and shape his passion and craft in filming. This was where Joshua created some of his most memorable and outstanding personal works which were recognized.
In 2007, Joshua participated in a national film contest for film making students known as the Campus Movie Festival and his short film was nominated as one of the finalist. This was after winning the both state and regional levels where Joshua’s film was awarded for “Best Romantic Comedy”.
In 2009, Joshua decided to return to Vietnam. This was to be the place where he strongly believe would provide him the opportunities to fulfill his dream in becoming a film director. But as one would expect, the road towards one’s dream is never an easy route.
To date, with grit and determination, Joshua has got himself involved with more than 300 films including TV commercials and several feature films in Vietnam and around Southeast Asia. But it was only in 2014 that Joshua finally experienced a breakthrough in his career where he directed several TV commercials for Xuxifarm, Panasonic Beauty, Tuong An Cooking Oil, Ngu Coc Nutrition Drink, Prudential Insurance, Bolzano Fashion, and a few others.
In the local industry, Joshua is known as a children TVC specialist because of his way in bringing out the best in children while on site. His patience with children, professionalism at work, and insights within the advertising industry are key contributors that make Joshua a reliable and competent director.
